Squirrel eating a Totally Awesome Fest egg outside the Co-op… It better not be the one with the secret brunch location!” -Georgina Susan

I went out this morning with the kids looking for Totally Awesome Fest eggs, and we had a great time, not only finding them for ourselves, and, in some instances, moving them to more creative locations, but also seeing people who’d never heard of Totally Awesome Fest finding them and trying to make sense of them. We did however see one thing that kind of bummed me out… One of our resident drifters was making his way from egg to egg a few blocks ahead of us, opening them up, eating the candy when he found some, and then just tossing the egg shells and other assorted non-consumable goodies to the ground. It sucks when people ruin what are otherwise beautiful community events, but I’m trying not to let it bother me. After all, I keep telling myself, we live in a city, and some folks are dealing with significant mental health issues. (He could have just been a littering asshole, but I’m trying to be generous.) At any rate, if you see egg shells around town, please pick them up this weekend and bring them with you to any of the Totally Awesome Fest shows that you might be attending. A lot of us are volunteering to go out in search of unclaimed or discarded eggs over the next few days, but, just in case we miss a few, we’d like to know that they get picked up. Thanks.

And did anyone find the secret brunch in the woods?

[Thank you, Georgina for sending the photo.]

update: I ran into Patrick on Sunday night and asked him if anyone had found their way to the secret brunch in the woods. Here’s his response.
